ABOUT ME
Shelly Carpenter
OTR/L · CFT Practitioner · North County San Diego
Hi, I'm Shelly.
I'm an occupational therapist, a craniosacral fascial therapy practitioner, and a mom… and honestly, all three of those things are inseparable from why I do this work.
For more than a decade, I've had the privilege of supporting children and families navigating development, sensory processing, feeding, and regulation. I've sat with parents who knew something was off long before anyone could name it. I've watched kids work incredibly hard in ways that conventional approaches could only partially reach. And somewhere along the way, I started asking a question I couldn't stop thinking about:
What if the body is holding onto more than we can see?
That question led me to craniosacral fascial therapy- a gentle, whole-body approach that works with the fascial system and nervous system to support the body’s natural capacity for adaptation and healing.
As a mom, I've also learned that our children are often our greatest teachers. Watching my own kids navigate a world that doesn't always fit the way they're wired has deepened everything I thought I knew about the nervous system, and made me a better practitioner.
Today, I work with infants, children, adults, and postpartum mothers. Some people come seeking support for tension, discomfort, recovery, or stress. Others are simply looking for a different approach after feeling like they've run out of answers. Whatever brings you here, every session is individualized and guided by your body's own pace.
I don’t believe healing can be forced.
I believe that when the body feels safe enough, it often knows exactly what to do.
My role is simply to listen, support, and help create the space for that to happen.
